Joseph Jaffoni

With more than 30 years of investor relations experience counseling over 400 publicly-listed and private companies, Joe provides JCIR clients senior level strategic counsel on investor relations, corporate and marketing communications, corporate governance and financing matters.  He has established a deep record of work on behalf of companies in the entertainment, leisure, gaming and broadcasting sectors and advised clients on a wide range of M&A communications strategies, financings and crisis communications.  Over his career, Joe has established strong relationships with leading portfolio managers, investment bankers, analysts, private equity firms, law firms and influential members of the media.

Prior to founding JCIR in 1994, Joe served as Executive Vice President at a prominent multi-national financial communications firm with responsibilities for establishing a domestic practice while serving the IR needs of the firm’s worldwide base of clients.  He previously served as Vice President and head of the Investor Relations division at a top-twenty, New York-based public relations firm and prior to that served as a cost consultant for government and corporate clients.

Joe earned degrees in finance and economics at New York University’s College of Business and Public Administration. He has addressed CFOs at The NASDAQ Stock Market’s annual investor relations conference as well as executives of major media companies on methods of improving and coordinating local communications with their parent company.  He has also been a member of the JCIR client service teams that were nominated for three consecutive years for Investor Relations magazine’s “Best Overall Investor Relations” (in both the small- and mid-cap categories) and for second place in Institutional Investor magazine’s 2012 All-America Executive Team for Best IR.

Joe resides in Manhattan with his wife and two children.

Richard Land
Senior Managing Director

Since joining JCIR in 2000, Richard has created and managed corporate communications and investor relations programs for clients across industries including casino gaming, entertainment and leisure, technology and consumer products.  Client engagements include Marvel Entertainment from its emergence from bankruptcy through its acquisition by Walt Disney Co. in December 2009; and ongoing representation of clients such as WMS Industries, a program nominated three years in a row for “Best Small IR” and multiple time winner of the American Gaming Association’s “Best Annual Report” award; Penn National Gaming; Multimedia Games; and, Gaiam.

Richard approaches each client relationship as an opportunity to expertly understand the client’s business, opportunities, and challenges, and to be fully informed on all internal and external expectations and issues to create client-specific communications programs that address a broad group of stakeholders.  Richard focuses on improving the level of interaction and understanding of a client’s business among sell-side analysts, institutional investors and financial and consumer media.  His approach to achieving client goals and generating substantial ROI for investor relations and marketing programs is summed up as follows:

“Having candid conversations is the starting point (knowledge base), informs the middle point (product creation) and drives the end point (value-enhancement).”

Prior to joining JCIR Richard served for three years as Vice President with a New York-based IR firm specializing in domestic and international small-cap clients. He previously spent five years as a trader of over-the-counter equities and convertible debentures for a New York investment firm.
